Overview

The LNK-M3011 series adaptive 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet media converters utilize switching

technology for seamless copper-to-fiber media conversion. Compliant with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3z,

and 802.3ab standards, they bridge the gap between:

  • Copper (RJ-45): 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, and 1000Base-T electrical signals over twisted pair.
  • Fiber (SFP): 100Base-SX/LX and 1000Base-SX/LX optical signals.

This conversion significantly extends network reach, overcoming the 100-meter limitation of copper

cabling to support distances up to 20km (and up to 120km maximum, depending on fiber type and

optics). The converters are versatile, supporting operation over:

  • Multi-mode dual fiber
  • Single-mode dual fiber
  • Single-mode single fiber
